Looking to upgrade to latest version - ready yet?
I've had my TBCB 2.5 on the back burner for past 8 to 10 months now - Really hoping to see an updated verion (which is now out, has been, I know for some time...but with bugs and such).
Would like to upgrade but wondering.. 1. if the latest version is up and runnning smooth enough to advise to do so (with my existing UNI). $money is not an issue for upgrading or not...simply don't want to screw up my long running but currently shelved UNI. 2. Is there any chance we are going to see a patch / tweaking of the cuts / fights stoppped by cut % (before a whole new game is built). Thanks. |

The upgrade offered no enhancements that appealed to me. I don't particularly care about graphics, though I understand many gamers do, when I spend more money on this game it will be when the fight engine has been upgraded.

Still waiting on the final patch/tweaks, but I have been running a couple of universes in the new version with no issues. (One is the TBCB Fantasy Boxing League in the other forum)
Minor upgrades like graphics, career earnings added (tracked from cards), some commentary changes (with more on tap for next patch) and fighter movement, time era appropriate purses, etc. Really just a matter of preference. I will admit it took me some time to get used to the new interface, but I like now and it seems very comfortable. If money is not an issue I would say grab it to support the development, play around with it starting a new Uni, then move your old one over after you are comfortable. I have it ... just saying there are too many issues to risk my universe with it ... not to mention it takes me forever to get a month done in my uni and if I switch and then have to go back and start over it would suck big time ...
plus I never got an answer on whether or not aging was tested on imported universes during beta (one of the first things I would have tested) ... I play around with the new version and I understand it was a means to an end, but I was never unhappy with 2.5 ... even if a fancy new version comes out with managers, gyms and the whole nine yards I will still be playing 2.5 ... not to mention it's been over 4 months since there was an update |

What I'm waiting for is female characters when female fighters are used and the ability to update cornermen, judges, referees, and announcers.

I agree - believable results are why I enjoy this sim!

Most of the results I saw in TB were plausable. The problem for many was how they got there. Now you have to wonder if the game engine is still as good when you see it hitting between 60-70% predicting.
I'm giving the game a rest until the next patch comes out. Cap

That being said.....I do wish a simple reduction in fights stopped by cuts (% tweak). would be put forth in a quick stop patch. Would go a long way toward me starting back up. |

Yes. Besides I can't get into it because of bizarre technical issues which likely have nothing to do with poor Paul.

Yeah, I'm sticking with the older version for now based on the feedback I've read here. I'm happy with all the guys here who provide constant updates on fighters or new boxers on the way up.

It's pretty controlled if you use the protect cut strategy. The messed up thing is you have to do it every round. If you protect a trickle and close it, then lay off the next round it's probably going to be stopped.

I have to say I don't see all that many fights stopped by cuts, but I probably don't run as many as you guys. There's a list on this forum of things to fix in Title Bout and that's definitely in the top 5.

Yeah....Just like a quick-patch came out to address the "cover-up" option being put to automatic (in simmed fights) once a fighter was hurt....... The "protect cut" should likely have a 1 rd "protect cut" strategy be automatic in simmed fights. Could be a stop-gap type fix.

From my studies, I think the trainer is at most, 5% of the difference.
