New to the game

Hi folks. I just got the game and I can see there is a bit of a learning curve, but it looks like this will take many man hours of enjoyment.

First question out of the gate. For my first project, I'm looking at recreating the Major Leagues starting in the first World Series season of 1903. I'm going to use historical rosters and lineups and don't care to do any general managing stuff. If I do anything hands on, it will probably be managing my Chicago Cubs from the dugout (whenever we're looking good).

I figure I can watch the video tutorials to get a feel for this, but to get things going, it just doesn't feel like the Major League without the real logos, uniform pictures, stadiums, etc. I see there are a ton of Mod sites and links, but could someone point me in the right direction to get started based on the above?

And if anyone wants to point me in the right direction to get my replay of history going, I won't ignore you. Thanks in advance!

Go to Add-Ons Central on the front page of the game and have it download the All-In-One Mod, which will have all the logos and player pictures you need. Once that's downloaded, you may need to manually update the player pictures and logos from the league setup page.

Cool, thanks! I didn't realize they made it an easy option within the game!

Also with the historical leagues option in game, you won't really have to "recreate" anything in terms of lots of setup. It's pretty easy to start a real teams/real players game in any year. I like to start in 1901 and go from there.

Tried starting a 1998 season last night. Think I got the hang of it. Seems like if you check on historical transactions and historical lineups, the game will play the games just like they did in history. I don't have to worry about injuries or anything of that nature, correct?

The only thing I noticed in the first series I played that seemed inaccurate was actually the game times. They all started kind of funky. All the East coast games started at 2:05 or 3:05 Eastern, which doesn't seem realistic.

Also, I downloaded that All-in-One mod that worked great, but it didn't work completely. It didn't download logos for old-school teams and team names like the Montreal Expos or the "Florida" Marlins. Guess I have to do that manually?
