FA Signing as Minor League Manager

Hey guys, I'm really new to the game and also new to the sport, as I've taken a recent interest into Baseball, due to the statistical analysis of the sport.

I've recently started a new game and decided to go unemployed with only the MLB loaded, up to the third minor league tier, the Single A. I was offered the Atlanta Braves affiliate there, the Kingsland Brass and I took it. During the pre-season, I couldn't sign FA's, except for the ones rated in the Top-25 that had a "offer contract" button in the special "Off-Season Central" in the League Page.

As the season started, that special page was removed and all I got left was the list of FA's available, where I can't seem to offer contracts, either via the action menu in the players' pages or via the right button menu.

A player injured for over a month and I have to find a replacement, how can I offer contracts (can I, right?) to players, while managing a Single A team?

Sorry for the newb question, and thanks in advance!

If you're managing in the minors, you can't. You're dependent on the AI to move players around. If they don't put the guy on the DL and/or move another player to your level, you've just got to make do with what you have.

Cheers for the quick response mate, that was really what I was fearing, despite I managed to sign a guy for my team, I feared that the parent team would deal with my roster movements.

Thanks!

Yep, signing Free Agents and moving players around are the duties of the GM, not the manager. The GM oversees the entire organization and all the personnel (coaches and players), while the manager at each level handles the day-to-day running of the team and all the in-game decisions. By playing as a manager, you're giving up the ability to move players around.
