Can Someone Explain This Contract Offer?

I do not know what I am seeing, can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I am sure it is something simple.
I offered him 500K per year for 2 years. I am expecting him to turn me down anyway.

Apparently you accidently offered him 300.000 per year as it displays a guaranteed value of 600.000

You also offered him a bonus of 440.000 if he reaches 550 plate appearances (880.000 in two years), 80.000 for an MVP (160.000 in two years) and 19.000 for an all-star selection (38.000 in 2 years).

So you have a guaranteed value of 600.000 for two years - but the deal could reach 1.678.000 over the two years (600.000 plus 1.078.000 bonus), more than twice as much as the guaranteed value.

So the potential average salary would be 839.00 ... and more than the salary for an above average player.

Original offer was 500 K. SS shows 300 K since I was thinking 500 K was too high, so I lowered it. He wants 6 mil per and the bonuses I left alone from his offer.
I didn't think that bonuses affected the salary base from the financial screen.
