Every player in the league retires

I just finished up my historical league at the end of the 2010 season, I started it in 1994 using real life transaction. While I was waiting for the announcement of the Gold Glove winners I received a message stating all of my current players, all 40 on the roster were retiring. This happened to all of the players in the entire league. Needless to say, there were no Gold Globe winners or any other awards.

I tried to restore the game, found by backup but I could not enter the target destination on the restore screen, the cursor would not open in that area.

Any ideas? I have updated my league each year when the new version of OOTP came out. I haven't make backups all that often, I know I should have but recently I backup each month of the season. It seems maybe the database didn't update correctly and it ended in 2010?

Thanks in advance,

John

1st thought. You have players retire according to history and your database ended. Have you switched to the current DB when you converted to each new version? By default it will be on the last version.
Also submit a ticket or PM Bowtie and get him to look at it.

As far as restoring the backup, have you moved your last backup from the backups folder. You should only have to select backup and it should automatically find the folder and the league and restore. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, explaining how to do a backup is hard for me but I can do it easier then explain it.

Option #2 create a new lg folder name it different from that league. Copy & paste all your .dat files from your backup into it and start that league and that might work. You will lose uniforms and a few things but you should still have your league.

Thanks for the help.

When I converted from each version of OOTP I did not change or update the database, I didn't think I had to. I just followed the wizard set up for converting a league to the newer version. What didn't I do that I should have done?

I will send in a ticket on the problem.

I too thought that the restoration wouldnt need the target file but it stops and asks for the target folder then doesn't let me enter one.

not sure on teh last part. Hopefully Bowtie or who responds to the ticket can help ya with that.
As far as the DB, if you don't know how to add the DB to you League Setup - Historical - Database Path. Copy the stats folder line. ctrl c and use ctrl v to paste it into that spot in your game.
example: C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 14\stats

If you were using a custom DB same thing just use the custom DB instead.

Thanks again,

I just checked the path and it said it was from OOTP 12, I did not mark any changes to it when I installed it then.

I did submit a ticket.

I filed a ticket on this and got back an email that it was received but have not gotten a reply back.

I have tried to replace the historical obd file from Ver 14 to the Ver 12 but without ant luck. The players real historical stats end in 2010.

Any other thoughts?

Do you have players retire due to history checkmarked when you reach the end of 2010? If the DB ends then that would explain alot. Could be wrong on this, hopefully someone who knows more responds. PM Spritze.

Yes, I had the players retire according to history, all of their real life stats end in 2010, so all retired.

so when you uncheck it going into 2010 does that fix it and the start of offseason 2010?

If I uncheck players retire according to history wouldn't only the players who retired in 2010 retire and not everyone?

I think I have have to update the database to the Ver 14 one, I think I am on Ver 12.

I did PM Spritz.

perhaps and Spritze can answer it better then i can. I have never played with retire due to history on. But the players should not retire with it off i am guessing.

I got a reply from Spritz and he says that the database that created the players are the one that has to be used and can't be changed.

My League will end in 2010, it is from Ver 12, and I wil start a new one using Ver14 that will end in 2012.

Thanks for the help and advice.
