Question My OPENING DAY played before Spring Training ????

Okay, this one is weird. Not sure if it is a bug, though, so posting here for help/advice.

I just set up my fictional draft league and wanted to begin my season. I'm playing version 14 for the first time (I own both version 8 and 13). I noticed on the event calendar that OPENING DAY was set for Feb 23rd and Spring Training was set up for March 3rd. Huh ? I know when I set up the league, I had set up the opening day schedule to begin April 1st. So how could Opening Day be before Spring Training ?

Thinking it just might have been a glitch in grammar, I forged through and simmed until Spring Training. Not good. Opening Day was indeed Opening Day. So, the teams played their regular season games before taking spring training !

Okay, so then I continued on, hoping perhaps the 'Opening Day' was spring training and that things would reset properly when I got to 'Spring Training'. Nope. Wrong. The previous games played were still being counted, and spring training was just a continuation of Opening Day.

Anyways, now I've had two seasons : one Opening Day season and one Spring Training season. It's just a mess.

I have no idea what happened as this did not occur in either versions 8 or 13.

Bottom line : how can I reset/restart my league from the beginning ? Keeping all of my teams, divisions, and settings intact, of course. I just want to restart my league with a clean slate, and make sure the Opening Day schedule is indeed set for April 1st.

How do I do this ?

Thanks...........

Did you make a backup of the league prior to playing games? If so, you can restore that as a separate game and possibly fix things by forcing the schedule to regenerate. If you didn't make a backup, then it's beyond my capacity to help untangle this one... You might just have to trudge through this season as the mess that it has become and then try to get a proper schedule set up during the off season.

Thanks for the reply post. I did not make a backup before the season started. I actually never even made backups with versions 8 and 13, either. If this season is lost, I don't mind that. I would like to just simply restart it from day one. Is there no 'restart/reset' league option ?

Or is there a way to start a new game, and just import my teams and league into that and start anew ?

Back up, back up and back up. And then back up some more. Back up before every season, during every season, and after every season. You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too many backups.

Things Happen.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
