Slot Bonus Baseline

Question about the slot bonus baseline for amateur drafts...

This is the first time I've done a league with drafts (used to import real rookies), and I'm trying to figure out where the "Slot Bonus Baseline" comes from. Does anyone know if it gets adjusted year-to-year the way the rest of the financials do, or is it something I will have to manually adjust over time? If it were listed on the "Financials" tab of League Setup, I wouldn't be too worried about it adjusting. But since it's on the "Rules" tab, I'm just not sure. And I play all my games out, so it'll be awhile before I can see if it changes for next year!

For what it's worth, in the historical 1950 league I created, the slot bonus baseline happens to match the "Below Avg Quality Player typical Salary" in the financials. Hopefully it stays linked to that every year.

Thanks to anyone who might have some info on this.

I just set up a quick test league and confirmed that, when you change the year under Import Financial Settings on the Financials page, it automatically changes the Slot Bonus Baseline on the Rules page.

Thanks Bru - I guess I would've gotten that answer eventually! I appreciate you going through the test.

Did you happen to notice if the slot bonus baseline matched the "Below Average Quality Player" salary for that season?

Wait a sec, I'll dig up that league again . . .

EDIT: Ok, this is interesting. When I first made that league, the slot bonus baseline was between Below Average and Fair Quality. But you are definitely on to something because you called it: Every time I change the financial year, the slot bonus baseline matches Below Average Quality Player. It doesn't matter what year I choose. So I think you can assume that it's "hot wired" in succeeding years after inauguration.

Even if I go back to 2012 by importing the financials for that year, the two figures match. Actually, the test league started in 2013, but I assume it used this last set of financial data that comes with the game.

Awesome - thanks! Hopefully this information helps someone else down the road who's curious about it. Another nugget for the unofficial Wiki manual!
