Extensions During Postseason?

I'm hoping someone can refresh my memory.

In past versions of OOTP, I could've sworn that the slew of extension signings for arbitration eligible players usually happened between the first day of the offseason and the arbitration hearing date.

I just started a fresh league with OOTP14, and in my first year, I'm seeing that slew of extension signings happening during the postseason instead - while games are still being played.

Is this new? Am I remembering incorrectly? Is it just because I'm playing a historical league with only one round of playoffs instead of a more modern setup?

I'd appreciate any insight. It's not a huge deal, but I'm finding it a little distracting that all these transactions are going down while the World Series is going on. Thanks.

Mine happen in the off-season, like before.

My thoughts exactly.

Hm OK, well maybe it's just because it was the first year in my league - it's just a 1950 historical league, nothing too crazy as far as customization. Have to see if it happens like this next year. Certainly not a dealbreaker but I preferred having them happen during the offseason.

Well, unfortunately I just got into the second year of my league - historical with real rookies entering the draft, created using version 14.4 - and I'm still seeing a bunch of arbitration-eligible players signing extensions *during* the playoffs.

I know it's not a game-breaker, but I really, really don't like seeing this. I know VG said his were still happening in the offseason, but is anyone else seeing this? This never happened in 13.

If this is something that has changed in 14, I hope it can be changed back in 15.

I just checked two leagues. No signings until postseason. Are you on the latest patch? I am and it is ab fab imo.

Yep - I sure am. I started the league with the 14.4 patch and am currently using the 14.5 patch.

RchW, you said no signings until "postseason" - did you mean offseason?
