60 day disabled list misuse?
I only GM and let my minor league managers handle all demotions/promotions for the most part. However, should someone either get a hang nail or have any "diagnosis pending" injury, they immediately go on the 60 day DL only to spend 30 days or more just sitting around. Can this be adjusted, please?

In addition, they also accumulate service time when they are placed on the 60D so there's that going for it, too.

Others have seen this and it's a known issue that should get addressed in the next patch.
I'll post a link to the conversation... http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3551809 If you go keep reading the next post after the one I permalinked, Markus realizes the issue about service time when minor leaguers on the 40-man get placed on the major league 60-day disabled list. Hopefully both of these issues will get addressed in the patch. Last edited by hefalumps; 08-21-2013 at 05:34 PM. |

Good. I didn't install the last patch so maybe that's why I don't see it.

So what OOTP is doing is not necessarily unrealistic. The problem seems to be it's doing it too frequently. |

The problem I have is that it's doing it without asking me. I don't mind if the minor league managers do everything themselves as far as lineups and depth charts go, and I'm more than happy if they put injured players on the 7-day DL so that I don't have to do it. But don't put that player on the 60-day DL without asking me. I should be able to decide if I would rather have the extra 40-man roster spot and sacrifice service time or keep him on the 40-man and not accrue the service time.
It used to be that in previous versions, you could have minor league managers handle lineups and depth charts, but as long as the human was handling transactions for minor leagues, injury/DL assignments had to be done by the human. A couple of versions ago, Markus reassigned the injury assignment aspect to the lineup and depth charts, so now if I don't feel like setting all of my minor league lineups and pitching staffs myself, I am at the mercy of the minor league managers with regards to injury assignments. And at present, I don't always like the decisions it makes. Markus and I have discussed this stuff in at least two different threads, so in addition to fixing the issue with day-to-day minor league injuries going on the 60-day ML DL, I'm curious to how else he tweaks the minor league injury stuff. |

Um... I don't think so. I had a pitcher on the 40-man optioned to the minors who got hurt for 9 months. I got notified about it, but he had already been placed on the ML 60-day DL.

And it's doing it on injuries that are shorter than 60 days. I have it happen several times a season on 3-4 week injuries and I have to go into commish mode and edit the player's DL time to zero and edit him back to the minor league roster. It's quite annoying.

Agreed. From what Markus posted in that thread I linked to, it sounds like the short injury issue aspect is definitely getting addressed in the patch, as I would definitely consider that a "bug". The minor league injury/DL assignment logic for the AI may or may not get addressed - we'll see. I certainly hope that we'll at least be able to separate minor league injury assignments from minor league lineup/pitching/depth chart management.

I would agree that in all cases the user should be given the choice of whether or not to place the minor league player on the 60-day DL, and that it should not happen automatically. |
