Unbalanced schedule controls?

Hello,

I've just tested a new fictional league of 12 teams in two divisions, and although I chose an unbalanced schedule and 162 games, the schedule generated by the AI did not give each team 18 games against divisional opponents (total = 90 games) and 12 games against each team from the other division (total = 72 games) ... which is "obviously" the ideal solution (and of course, what I intended).

Is there a way to dictate my desired outcome, or am I at the mercy of the AI in this regard?

The schedule generator in OOTP is flat-out terrible. Don't let the game generate the schedule.

Luckily for you, gmo has made the exact schedule you're looking for.

Thanks for that quick response, but I'm having trouble using it. I downloaded the zip file, but my Mac doesn't respond when opening it. There may be a missing step here ... when I create my league, do I need to specify this file somehow?

Unzip the file somewhere. Edit your league schedule. Import schedule from the file in the first step.

One thing you may want to do is check the list of schedules that come with OOTP. Go to edit schedule and on the far bottom right you will find a menu that has "import from file" as one of its options. Select that and you will see all the ready made schedules provided by OOTP. Plenty to choose from featuring all kinds of setups.

This is good advice, however the fact that gmo had to do a schedule for it means that chances are, it isn't included in the ones that come with the game.

I just double checked, and it's not.

EDIT: Also, to the OP: You have to be in the preseason to edit your schedule. Once games start, there's no changing the file.

Thank you all! I found the extracted file and used it to generate my schedule.
