Interested In Purchasing
I'm interested in purchasing the game, with the Pre Order being done in a week, I am still hesitant with issues seemingly existing with the trade logic and game play.
Is there a guarantee that these will be taken care of before the release date and what do those with the beta think of the game thus far?

My personal opinion is that they have ZERO chance of having this game ready by sept. 2th. I would be very amazed if they did.
BUT that doesn't mean they can't fix it in the upcoming months, it just needs more time to get all troubles fixed and tested. Don't forget that we haven't had a hockey simulation game like this for years so having this very small game-studio to jump into the empty hole that SEGA left for all our hockey fans is a huge first step and you have to give them credits for taking this bold step while all others are like chickens to make this first step. For me 30,- or 40,- isn't much money even if this game is (real) stable and playable by december instead of september. I look at it as an investment and showing my commitment to this product because I believe there has to be a hockey simulation game for us to play and I can see the potential. Maybe 30,- or 40,- is a lot of money for some people, but most of us are also donating 60,- each year to EA Sports for real sloppy development and a game you probably hate after playing 2½ months. I can't see the difference and the worst part is, you already know right at this point that if you buy NHL 14 you will get lifted of your money by false promises and just tiny improvements. But for some reason you will take it because it will not make you go bankruptcy. No - I wouldn't worry too much about buying a 30,- game from a very small game-studio who is really trying to give us the best as possible game and listening to feedback for a change!!! The game at point is real Beta. Nothing you can say about it, they can't sell it as is to the public because it's not really (fun) playable yet, the people who do play the Beta at this point are often just simming months -/years to see what happens and report bugs. But I have to say every Beta-update they release has been a huge improvement thats why everybody has to be optimistic about the future of this game. It just needs more time in my opinion. --- beside all that --- What I never understood is why the OOTP developers never went to Kickstarter.com or some other crowd-funding site to raise money for this new project while it still was on the drawingboard. It's thé new way of getting your start-up money together when your idea is great - and when it's not you don't.. It's a very simple formula but it works even better than writing a business plan and showing to the ' experts '.

No question this game is a work in progress.
But I am beyond thrilled that a company like OOTP is making it. I had despaired of ever getting another hockey sim after EHM was cancelled. And they're not half-assing it... this game has serious depth and tons of potential. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. |

I can't guarantee things will be fixed before release, but I can guarantee that OOTP are one of those developers that don't stop supporting their game once it's out the door. They'll be working on things well into 2014.

Well, i hope they won't stop working until at least 2015 if there is still improvement to be done.

Just remember how FAR, OOTP has come to the current 13 ... This Game is the Golden Standard of Baseball ... so, yeah, it'll be the Gold Standard of Hockey when it get to the 14th version !!!

That's assuming we get another version in the following year. I know that's the plan but it would not surprise me if they took a full year off a new release, instead supported this one with bug fixes. I hope i'm wrong but time will tell and if previous game releases of this genre as large in scope say anything, that's normally the case. Takes time to build that fanbase, hopefully there are enough sales in the first year to stop that trend here.

I definitely appreciate all the responses! Been playing OOTP games for awhile and am excited to see another hockey game, EHM actually turned me into a fan of the sport. So I will definitely be purchasing!
