Toronto opened up Spring Training with their bats already swinging like July! They beat up Cleveland to the tune of 11-3. Jose Reyes went 3 for 4 with 2 triples and 3 RBI. Anthony Gose got the first homer of the spring. WP - Nick Bucci (1-0) LP - Cody Allen (0-1) Spring Record - 1-0 |

This was a good day for pitchers to get some work in as the game went 16 innings. Toronto used 9 pitchers while Detroit used 6. In the end it was Prince Fielder who went deep off Mark Montgomery to give the Tigers the walk-off 3-2 win. WP - Brayan Villareal (1-0) LP - Mark Montgomery (0-1) Spring Record - 1-1 |

Another extra-inning game but this one only went 10 as Anthony Gose put his second ball into the seats to get the walk-off 3-2 win. WP - Ryan Flannery (1-0) LP - Jim Johnson (0-1) Spring Record - 2-1 |

It was the third straight extra-inning game for Toronto. This one ended with a walk-off homer by Dayan Viciedo to give the White Sox the 8-6 win in 10. Jose Bautista strained his shoulder but is expected to miss less than a week of spring training. WP - Addison Reed (1-0) LP - Tanner Scheppers (0-1) Spring Record - 2-2 |

Ivan Nova's spring debut with the Blue Jays went very well as he pitched 5 shut-out innings, allowing 5 hits as Toronto ended up beating the Astros 2-1. Tim Dillard made things interesting at the end, walking 2 and allowing an inherited runner to score before getting the last out. WP - Ivan Nova (1-0) Save - Tim Dillard (1) LP - Brad Peacock (1-0) Spring Record - 3-2 |

Not a good day for a couple of Toronto pitchers. This shouldn't hurt Steve Delabar TOO much, but Clayton Richard's already shaky chances of making the restocked rotation has taken a hit. Texas won 8-3. WP - Josh Lindblom (1-0) LP - Clayton Richard (0-1) Spring Record - 3-3 |

This was a much better day for the Blue Jay pitching staff as they struck out 10 while dropping the A's 7-0. Gordon Beckham and Edwin Encarnacion both went deep for Toronto. WP - Kyle Drabek (1-0) LP - Jesse Chavez (0-1) Spring Record - 4-3 |

It looks like Matt Magill isn't ready for the majors yet, but that is no surprise. There were no expectations of that sort when he was acquired. Pedro Alvarez and Brett Lawrie both went deep for the Jays but the Royals won 6-4. (Note: in the lineup for the Royals, Emilio Bonifacio and Melky Cabrera.) WP - James Shields (1-1) Save - Greg Holland (1) LP - Matt Magill (0-1) Spring Record - 4-4 |

Today was not a very well-played game for Toronto. The hitters just never got on-track. J.P. Arencibia hit a homerun but that was the only highlight as they fell 7-2 to the Angels. WP - Jason Vargas (1-1) Save - Jerome Williams (1) LP - Zach Stewart (0-1) Spring Record - 4-5 Last edited by rpriske; 07-27-2013 at 12:14 AM. |

R.A. Dickey blanked the Red Sox over 5 but they got close against Tanner Scheppers, tied it up against Aaron Loup, and got the walk-off in the 12th against Nick Bucci. WP - Junichi Tazawa (1-1) LP - Nick Bucci (1-1) Spring Record - 4-6 |

After the Mariners got back into the game after Colby Lewis left (striking out 8 in 5 innings), Franklin Guttierez put one in the seats to get the lead back for Toronto, as they ultimately won 5-4. WP - Carter Capps (1-0) Save - Tim Dillard (2) LP - Stephen Pryor (1-1) Spring Record - 5-6 |

An all-around well played game for Toronto as they downed the Rays 5-0. Hyun-Jin Ryu was especially sharp as he held Tampa to one hit over five innings of work, walking two and striking out one. Anthony Gose, Franklin Guttierez and Matt Joyce all went deep for the Jays. Guttierez is fighting hard for that 4th outfielder spot. There are rumours that the Jays are working on a trade that would shock the baseball world (and possibly anger their fans). WP - Hyun-Jin Ryu (1-0) LP - J.A. Happ (0-1) Spring Record - 6-6 |

Brandon Barnes got the big hit when it counted, with a 9th inning double to score Sean Rodriguez to net the walk-off 5-4 win over the Twins. The rumours continue to swirl about the big name that the Jays are looking at moving. Who could it be? WP - Ryan Flannery (2-0) LP - Glen Perkins (0-1) Spring Record - 7-6 |

The Jays won with the long ball... in particular it was Jose Bautista's three-run blast that gave them the lead and the 6-3 win over the Tigers. Anthony Gose and Brett Lawrie also went deep. WP - Ryan Flannery (3-0) Save - Nick Bucci (2) LP - Casey Crosby (0-1) Spring Record - 9-7 Last edited by rpriske; 11-22-2013 at 12:11 PM. |
