Is there a way to make teams only hire from their Nation?
I'm trying to do a fictional Pan-European baseball league, but the problem is, unless there is some option I'm missing, I can't find a way to make it so, for instant, the team from Ireland would have the vast majority of its roster be Irish nationals. Instead I'm having the Dublin Aces with what appears to be the majority of their 25 man roster made up of Eastern Europeans. I should point out I'm mainly talking about how they do their drafting of rookies, not so much the shuffling and trading of professional players once they reach the higer levels of the game.

Whatever nationality/region your league is set to at start up is where the majority of your players will come from.
The "region" setting in OOTP only applies to leagues, you cannot apply it to just one team or division. You can control the % of new players (amateurs) from the settings in league setup, on the options page. You can set it to say 10% Ireland, 10% English, or whatever you like. There is no way to force the Irish Team to only select Irish born players unless you manually draft. |

Woooo go Dublin!!
Anyway it was something I was thinking the other day but it would be possible in future to move some of the league options into a new team options section. As lots of people have asked this so you set each teams foreigners allowed rule rather than the league. Another one that I wanted to use recently was age restrict one team while others are normal.

Damn, a shame. I was planning on doing a World Wide League with a MLB division setup, with the teams divided into the American Division (US, Mexico, etc), Anglo Division(the 5 nations on the British Isles), Continental Division(France, Germany, etc), in one the "Western League". With the Eastern League consiting of the Eastern European Division (Russia, Poland, and the 3 Scandanavian countries, possibly with one of those replaced with a Balkans or Greece), Middle Eastern Division (India, Egypt and Iran would be there, but not sure which other 2) and the Pacific Division (Japan, Korea, China, Australia, and Taiwan).
Really would have been an interesting setup, but not much of a point if they all recruit from anywhere in the world. |

Edit- oh I realize that option only works for parent leagues (active roster) and not minors/reserves correct? Edit- I guess increasing the active roster size and limiting the reserve roster could be a work around, sadly he'll have to abandon the farm system I assume? The best that I have managed to accomplish in 14 has been this:
In setup, set it up so that the draft pool originates from the countries of your teams. So, in a 10 team league with each team from a different country, the draft pool would be 10% from each represented country. Set the foreign player limit based on team nationality to whatever you like. Also, disable or modify international free agent generation. In 13 and before, I had to use feeder leagues in each nation. This made for a very big universe which was hard on my computer but had the advantage of creating more depth and variability in the draft classes.

was thinking you was gonna have a division from various regions or nations which be more than 6 divisions which is the reason why I asked.
