Fight Predictions
To help promote Title Bout 2013:
Boxrec.com has a list on the port-side of their page of upcoming fights. It might be cool to have two guys here who have the updated ratings of these boxers run a prediction for each match. One guy would run the fight once and the other would run it a hundred times. Two mods would be good or someone from the Head Office. ![]() Next one up is August 3rd at Mohegan Sun Casino, CT betwixt Eddie Chambers and Thabiso Mchunu - cruiserweights. Cap

We landed here many years ago by your reckoning and have been observing the earth for signs of intelligent life.
We're still looking. Cap

As a representative from the home office, I would be happy to run these sims. We could add them to our Predictions page, where we already have a prediction for Mayweather vs. Alvarez:
TBCB Development Website- Predictions I can also publicize the results on Twitter and Facebook, as well as on my media list. I would just appreciate some input from the community RE the best way to set up the boxers for these matches, since most of you know much more about boxing than I do. Thanks. |

I would run the fights with as much details as possible. Quote:

Saul Alvarez - Trainer: Jose "Chepo" Reynoso or Eddy Reynoso. - Cut Man: Have Image, but no name. Whether the ratings of different individuals impact results, unknown. But would always go with having as much accuracy as possible. Hope of some help.

Thanks for the thoughts. I will drop Ice Tea and Jackyle a line and see how they can help.

What do you need assistance with? The fighter ratings?

Yes, I could use help with the fighter ratings. Do you want to send me a PM? Or you can email me: brad.cook@ootpdevelopments.com
Thanks. |

Brad, yes, "career stages" impacts fighter performance. A Post-Prime Joe Louis is not as formidable as a Prime Joe Louis.

And simply changing the career stage in the game isn't the way to do this, correct? I need to have updated ratings too if I'm going to change the career stage? Or does the game contain ratings for various stages in the boxers' careers, and they change automatically when the career stage changes?

So, Eddie Chambers is in the game, but Thabiso Mchunu isn't. I just updated the game date, so I should have the current version of the database, as of 7/30/13.
Anyone happen to know if Mchunu will be added at some point? I'll ask Mark, but in the meantime, if anyone has any thoughts, please LMK. Thanks. |

I updated the database and restarted the game, and then he showed up. Thanks.

Normally, I refrain from rating a fighter in a division until he or she has a reported significant fight in that weight class. I submitted a cruiserweight rating on Eddie Chambers on how I think he will perform there. In my opinion, fighters have problems dropping from heavyweight to cruiserweight and light heavyweight. Chambers received a (5) rating.

So, the game has Chambers as a HW, Mchunu as a CW. Both of them are listed in the prime of their careers.
I realize boxers fight within their weight classes, but I didn't think just changing Chambers to a CW would automatically change his ratings accordingly, nor would changing Mchunu's career stage to something else affect his ratings. I scheduled 100 fights between both of them - TBCB won't let me go above three digits when using the scheduler. Chambers won 55 times and Mchunu 37 times, with 8 draws. Here are screenshots of two parts of the results page, since I don't have a way to upload that right now. (Paul would need to do that.) Thoughts? Thanks. |
