elite players in a given league

What I dont get is how I had 28 elite (65+ on 20-80) power hitters when my league began in 2013. Then just 16 years laters there are 80. Why is that? And I have all the PCM on default. Speed took a huge jump as well all the pitcher ratings. Am I missing something? Any help will appreciated.

hm.... couldn't tell you. Seems odd though. I've only had 12 50+ homerun seasons since 2014(it's 2031 now) 3 of which were 60+ HR seasons. Also 5 of the 12 seasons were the same guy. Just some comparison is all I have to offer I guess.
