bad business
In my 30 team game I GM the Milwaukee Brewers. In the middle of a season, a player I have under contract (last year before arbitration begins) was just signed to an extension by the Baltimore Orioles. The player did not change teams in any way, but the player is now being paid 3.3m per year instead of 490k per year. At no time during the season did I successfully negotiate with the player. In fact, negotiations had broken down and I was going to let his contract go to arbitration at season end.
I noticed the change after the contract extension message because that player's uniform changed from a Brewer's uni to an Orioles' uni. The uniform changed back the next time I brought the player into a game (he is a reliever). Did anyone else run into this issue? I am in the 7th season of the league and noticed no problems before this in regard to contracts. |

Never seen this before, myself. Just to clarify, this is during the actual season, when games are being played, right?

Make sure there is not a duplicate player. That happens sometimes. Check Baltimore's roster to see if there are two guys with the same ID and name and everything.

I nearly got thrown once when I was offered a "Cole Gillespie" in trade, because I already had a pitcher by that name in my minors. Turned out it was an outfielder.
