Player Development- Pitchers
Howdy Y'all,
I don't know if this has already been brought up, there are a lot of threads to look through for this answer but I couldn't figure it out. Often it seems like I have pitchers developing batting skills (im in the AL for one, and second its my relievers that are developing better batting skills). I'm not sure if this is a setting that can be fixed in the setup or if it just involves better coaches. Any ideas? |

Ideas: Just because your league uses the DH doesn't mean that some pitchers may not be decent hitters. Also, why "better" coaches? It seems that a better hitting coach may "rub off" some of his skills on a pitcher or two. A better pitching coach will affect only pitching talent, I assume. Anyway, I would either not worry about it OR keep it in mind for someday when you are playing interleague or you run out of pinch hitters on the bench.

It seems that pitchers develop what hitting potential they have regardless of how you use them during development. Not sure how coaching plays into it, but you might have a thought there.
