Changing a teams name/history.

Easiest way I can describe what I want to do is by an example. Say I start MLB in 1901 then sim to 2013, now what I want is to change the New York Yankees to the Dallas Cowboys but I want the Yankees to have never existed and the Dallas Cowboys to be in the history of the MLB instead of the Yankees, is this possible?

I think changing the team name would be ok but one problem that may occur is that the players will have still played for the Yankees and not the Cowboys, see I want to run a fictional league and sim 50 years of history then take over the worst team within the league but I want them to be in a poor town with a low population and the team is about to move when I take over. If I just takeover the worst team I could end up taking over say a team from New York which I don't want to, the worst team yes but not the biggest city team.

Their history as the Yankees will remain. You cannot delete it or change it.

Same for players, any that played for the Yankees will reflect that in their history.

I thought that would be the case although if I went through the csv files and change those then reimport them would that not work?

If you know how to edit hex code, you could probably edit the dat files, but other than that, you can't edit history.

CSV files are my limit, nevermind. Thanks for your input though.

If you know how to exit hex code then you can get a high-paying job.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
