How do YOU handle September callups?
I was curious...
How do leagues out there handle September callups? One way I thought of was to allow it for a season, and edit the contract back to a minor league contract. I don't know if this will screw up the budget though. Does anyone have a way where September callups can take place without getting their contract started? Are there ramifications of my idea, and if so, what are they? Peace John |

I think the 5-year clock will get a little screwy if you edit the guys back to rookie status. If you want to give players an extra, cheap year for being called up in September you could always give them a 6-yr $100,000 contract after they were called up. This may not be what you are getting at, though.
Why not keep it as is?

At the time, I was looking for a way to help owners out with giving some prospects a little taste of the show. However, once I pondered it, five years is still a long time, so it's not like we're severely cutting into the time they have to use the player.
