Default path for OOTP14
I have searched high and low, but I cannot find a reference to where the default database path is in OOTP14 for a Mac.
I've played around with the Gambo/Spritze, but want to point the game back to the default, and I cannot find it anywhere. I did a spotlight search for historical_database.odb, but all my computer found was the altered databases. Thanks for any help. |

As has been stated, the patch process is so slow with the app store compared to getting it directly from OOTP that it really makes more sense to just get it from OOTP. It's not that much harder to install, you just have to open the installer and drag an icon to a folder and you're done. Granted, the app store does that for you, but that's not a hard step. Apple has had changing policies in terms of where approved apps have to have their files located. This is fairly well documented on the OOTP forums, as OOTP has gone back and forth on this over the past four versions. OOTP11: Installed the game and stores data in your user account's Documents folder. OOTP12: Installed the game and stores data in the hidden Library/Application Support folder. OOTP13: Installed the game and stores data in your user account's Documents folder. OOTP14: Installs the game and stores data in the hidden Library/Application Support folder. The easiest way to find the Library folder is to click the Go menu while holding down the Alt/Option key in Finder. Finder is like a Mac combination of the Windows desktop and Windows Explorer. Once you've found the OOTP saved_games folder, everything works just like on a PC, you put the league folder in there, add an accounts file to the settings folder if you need to, install your add-ons and all that. The only difference is the location of the folder, and that Apple doesn't give you a choice on it. Since I've never purchased from the Apple store, the only thing I can guess is that with OOTP13, it put the files in Library/Application Support even though the installer from OOTP Developments didn't do that. The real issue is that your GM's just need to be educated on where to find the data. If they can play OOTP, there's no issue accessing the right folders and installing an online league file there. They may just need to go to a different place then they're expecting. The important thing to remember is that the app store doesn't control your ability to access folders like the Library/Application Support folder. Just because the file locations are different with different versions of OOTP, doesn't mean that they don't function the same way. Hopefully, this helps.

Thanks guys. I ended up just uninstalling, deleting everything and reinstalling.
The default path is: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 14/stats Everything is there. I wonder why it wasn't there on my old install. Maybe because I never created a game with the default DB and just started with the Spritze DB? |
