Arbitration Question
Is it possible to not offer money to an arbitration candidate (in a sense firing them)?
I know there are 3 rounds of negotiation and the arbitrator decides who to side with-the player or team. Is it possible to just walk away from the table and not offer any contract? I ask this because I have some veterans who for some reason are up for arbitration (online league). And I really don't want to have them back. Is there a way to fire them with trading or releasing through arbitration? Thanks |

You can just release them. Right click --> Transactions --> release player. They become free agents. You're off the hook for their salary (assuming it's arbitration period and the reg. season has finished). Everyone is happy. |

OK thanks. I knew you could release him, but didn't know you'd be off the hook when it comes to salaries-in the arbitration period.

Yes, you can decline to offer arbitration. The option will be there when arby time rolls around and you go to your list of eligible players.
