When playing OOTP, I'm usually only focused on my own team and somewhat my division. I also shortlist all my ex-players and follow their progression. As I play more into the future, the real-life players are all retiring and I have very little awareness of rest of league.
When I start a series, I always check out the opposing team and roster. With real-life roster, it was easy to notice marquee players missing or stud prospects promoted. However, with all fictional players, it's difficult to grasp how the opposing team has evolved. I'd really like an easy way to list major moves over the past few years. The information is already in OOTP, but it's not easy to access. For example:
- Trades made by team over last five years.
- [It's available via the trade log, but it's not sortable by team.]
- FA acquisitions over last five years.
- [Available in off-season summary, but disappears during season. Major transaction log only for current season.]
- FA departures over last five years.
- [Available in off-season summary, but disappears during season. Not available through other logs.]
- Rules 5/Waiver claims/loss over last five years.
- Retirements/Career Ending Injuries over last five years.
All of this should be filtered so that only significant moves are listed and minor league moves ignored. Overall, I'd really like to know more about players departures. If I notice a 80 rated player on the opposing team, I can easily check out his history. But when I see a perennial playoff team at the bottom of the division, it's not easy to figure out why. Are they underperforming or did they lose major pieces?
