In OOTP 13, I had a drafted 1B guy who had single-digit strikeouts in ~600 at-bats. Somethign like 90 walks/9 strikeouts. Not as impressive as those Roger Clemens stats but thought it was pretty cool. Good times.

Why yes, if he had played for 8+ additional years WHILE being on teams that actually bulked up his W-L record, that would have made it much easier for him to get into the HOF.

Good players who are judged by team-dependent stats while playing on lousy teams are in a difficult position. It would be like RBIs being the single dominant (commonly used by the frozen cavemen sportswriters) gauge of the HOF-worthiness of hitters instead of AVG, HR, or H.

I was simply referring to how he promotes himself every summer. I wasn't saying he doesn't deserve to be in the Hall. In my book, 287 wins with a 3.31 ERA and 60 shutouts in that era (when starters pitched deep into games regularly) should be plenty for inclusion. But this OOTP Blyleven trumps real-life Blyleven in ERA, WHIP and K/9 by fairly significant margins.
