Drafting Europeans

How does it work? It seems like I have to pay some kind of transfer fee (which wasn't present in EHM) and it never seems to go through.

I could be wrong but I think is there not agreements between NHL and European leagues over compensating for the development of drafted prospects? I think maybe though such fees are set based on what round they are drafted etc. I don't remember EHM taking this into account but pretty sure there is a compensation system set up between the leagues.

There is a an agreement in place, it is just waiting to get ratified by the Board of Governors. It covers Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland and Germany.
