How to assign yourself as MLB manager?

Only GM is available...

You assign yourself as manager by managing the games and playing them out....also under, the manager options menu, you can assign lineup and rotation responsibilities to yourself or the computer.....

Right but what happens on the personel screen? Isn't the gm replaced?

I'd like to be manager to be fired if deserved etc

Well, get out of commissioner mode and go to the jobs available screen......you won't get offered major league jobs right of the bat.....you have to prove yourself in the minors......

So I can't manage mlb from day 1? I have proven myself...since ootp 3 amd I'm sick of the minors lol

You are, in effect, always the GM of a team unless you work in the minors. Major League teams will not hire you as just "the manager".

If you go to manager options and assign roster moves, initiate and react to trades, and minor league control to the AI and just keep the lineups/depth charts and in game control to human you will be acting only as the manager. Unfortunately, I think the game will still consider you to be the GM.

this should really be changed. I think we should have three options: GM, Manager, GM?Manager
