Continuing my PCM thing (new experiment)...

In a new thread, since the old thread got derailed. I started a dynasty in OOTP13, set it up the way I like (feeders and all), and then imported it into v14, and then simmed up to draft pool reveal in each game. The results are wildly inconsistent:

OOTP13 Draft Pool

OOTP14 Draft Pool

OOTP13 Lucas Giolito

OOTP14 Lucas Giolito

All settings are the same, I'm using the same scout, same everything. The only thing that's changed is the version of the game I'm using. Sorry to bring this up again, but IMO there's something weird going on here, it's... I'm not getting the expected results here.

Sorry about the image sizes, I'm going to fix those.

Edit: Image sizes fixed.

Were both draft pools created in 13 and then you imported the game to 14? Or was the 14 draft pool created in 14?

Have you tried this with scouting off and then compared the actual ratings of the players in the draft pool instead of what the scout sees? Take the scouting variable out to give you a better idea if it is player PCMs that are the potential issue or if it is the scouting system that is the potential issue.

In my testing comparing my league in OOTP13 vs OOTP14 I'm not seeing an issue with the talent level of the players in the draft pool but I am using 100% accurate scouting while I am testing. Eventually I will lower the scouting accuracy once I am ready to set up my league for real.

OK, it looks to be the scouting system that's the actual problem here, and not the PCM system. I disabled scouting in both v13 and v14, and both draft pools (for the same draft) are identical.

Let me redo this for both games and get back to you guys again.

OK, I started a new dynasty in v13, simmed up to draft pool reveal to ensure the same class for both games, turned scouting off, and the talent is identical in both games, for both pools. Going to turn scouting on now and compare.

Yep, scouting immediately screws things up for the ootp14 draft class. It's definitively a scouting problem, and not a PCM problem. I'm not sure what else to test here, but any direction would be appreciated.

It WAS normal, then I turned it off and got results.
I usually keep it at normal, always have. Have never had issues until OOTP14.

I read that, it sounds similiar. I didn't make the leap to scouting problems until someone directed me to it in this thread.

I assume this is your organization's scout, so have you tried to fire him and hire another, just to check if there are any significant changes?

I've resigned from team and taken over other teams, with similiar results.

Scouting was tweaked in OOTP 14, so I wouldn't expect your scout to get the same results. Maybe during the import the players get rescouted as opposed to just importing the values from OOTP 13.

From newsletter...
We have recoded the way OOTP evaluates players, both for the OOTP Scouting Agency ("OSA") and your head scout. For example, players with several years of pro experience are now better scouted than in previous versions, and the OSA is more accurate overall, providing a valid second opinion on players. There are also players who are vastly overrated or underrated by almost all scouts, resulting in more late-round surprises.

But would that lead to things like guys being rated 80 potential in v13, and the same guy, scouted by the same scout, being rated 20 potential in v14? And it's multiple players, too.
