Player Development Question
Does a young player develop faster if he stays in the minor leagues?
I had the number one draft pick and he's got a current rating of 43 and a potential rating of 80. Should I leave him down longer to allow for faster development, or will it also happen at the MLB level? |

When the game tells you that he's ready for a move to the show, unless you are desperate, leave him down for another season and let him develop some more. Unless of course he has developed to 3/5 stars or better. The absolute worst thing to do is to play them too much too early because it will stunt their growth. The minors are their for a reason. |

Helping development
When I promote a young guy from the minors who is green-arrowed as ready but then does poorly on the active roster, and then send him back down again to not ****** his development -- this guy sometimes is very angry.
What I wonder is: which is more detrimental to development, poor performance in the majors or being unhappy in the minors? |
