Moving the Astros back to the NL Central

If I do this, would I have to import some schedules from mods section or does the game take care of it?

Initially you will need to import the appropriate schedule for your league. Select "Auto adjust date if matching XML schedule found" under options and you should be good to go from there.

You should be able to just use the last 5 years schedules, 2008, 09, 10, 11, and 12 once you've moved them back.

Ah, MLB...

making a new generation of league-unscramblers! I'm still moving the Brewers back into the AL every year

Me, too. Damn Selig for that shabby trick he pulled.

Back when it happened, I asked everyone I knew why it had to happen. Never got appropriate response.

Didn't Selig (The Brewers entity) get megabucks out of the deal?

Any MLB schedule from 1998-2012 would work.

After Tampa and Arizona had been added as expansion teams, the MLBPA suggested each league going to 15 teams. The obvious solution would have been for Arizona to go into the AL West as part of a 15-15 balanced arrangement, but under the terms of their expansion agreement they were guaranteed a slot in the NL. The owners also resisted the idea because they didn't want interleague play spread throughout the season, so that meant one club had to change leagues. In the end that club was Milwaukee.

The players have long wanted a balanced 15-15 alignment since it meant better and more equitable scheduling and competition. It was only with the most recent CBA that the owners were (finally) willing to accept the idea.

Unfortunately for Houston and its fans, it got the short end of the stick in terms of this. No other club wanted to change leagues, and with the Astros being sold, MLB had the leverage to insist that the sale include the condition of the club moving to the AL.

Yep, was just thinking about having them in succession to get the proper rotation of divisions for inter-league play.

So if I select the 1998 schedule does the game then use the 1999 schedule for the next season or do I have to select the following years schedules?

If you're in the 1999 year, the game will use the 1999 schedule if it matches your league structure and # of games played. If it does not match year, structure, and number of games played, a new schedule will be generated based on the format last used.

See, most of the explanations I got were because of interleague scheduling. As a fan, I would have thought that would have been a good thing. When interleague was started (and maybe I noticed it more because it was during the time the Tigers sucked), a team that averaged maybe 20,000 a game, suddenly saw sellout crowds during interleague games (and probably a corresponding spike in TV interest as well). But interleague play was in danger of growing stale; the same matchups year after year, and always at the same time.
Meanwhile, 30 teams, each playing 15 games, (half at home) is enough games for an interleague game every day.

See I keep Milwaukee in the NL. I hated the Phil Garner led Brewers as a Sox fan. I move Pittsburgh to the AL so PA has a team in each league as does every other state with 2 teams.
