Is there anything special in game if you get the Cubs to win a WS?

Just wondering if there's a special story or something on the whole "1xx years" thing.

It isn't possible. The Cubs losing is hard-coded in for realism.

I was running an Indians dynasty, started in 1994 and the Cubs won the series in 1996, I posted a thread here in the historical section. They did win again a few year later. I have sinced ended the sim as I could never get to win in the playoffs and the eras for the leagues were out of control. The sim post shows the make up of the first team that won it for them. Say it aint so Dorothy is the link title in the historical threads.

Yes, the extremely rare Platinum Achievement award. Looks like the silver one but, take my word for it, it's platinum! Really.

I simmed the MLB 15 years a head. No Cubs WS. Took control of Cubs and have made it to playoffs 2 years in a row. They always fall apart. It's hardcoded.

Unbelievable as it may seem, I won an online league once as the Chicago Cubs.

Of course that was way back in version 6.5, so obviously it got hardcoded sometime after that.

Did not see that. I love my Tribe and my Buccos, one day, in rl I am gonna get to see them face off in a World Series. The world will end the day after, but it will happen.

First will be the Indians vs Pirates, then the Indians vs the Cubs, then world destroyed by paradox that suddenly appears in the out field at Wrigley immediately after the final out of that WS.

Being hardcoded is what everyone says but I cant buy that, too easy to do and really, "takes" away from the spirit of fair play (LOL)

I can assure you that it will never happen in my league. Ever. I have no issues whatsoever enabling commish mode to insure that the Cubs remain the pile of garbage that they are. Last place forever more.

Was starting to think the same thing. Question is, start with current rosters and try to do the nearly impossible or start back in the day and see if history can be changed soon.

I should have done this for the 2002 WS Cubs. In my historical league I played vs the Cubs in 3 of 4 WS I won 2 of those. All prior to 1900. I have 16 championships 2nd have 3 as of 1916.
