On area financially the AI could use some improvement
Am I the only one who feels the AI needs some improvements to how it uses the Arbitration system? I decided to check last night how many MLB players actually go through arbitration. From the MLBPA's site I learned that since '74 there have been 500 cases that have required an arbitration hearing. 214 rulings for the player and 286 for the teams. So since '74 about 13 players per year have been unable to work out a deal with their clubs and have gone to an arbitrator.
Now compare that with OOTP where a single AI team can realistically have over 13 players go to an arbitrator in a year. This, imo, is part of why you see so many teams with so little money because they are often blowing a lot of it on arbitration for minor leaguers. If a player has been in the minors all year and is arbitration-eligible the AI is smart enough to just release the player but the moment he plays in the MLB, even if it's just a single game, they are more than willing to pay the player millions of dollars to occupy a 40-man roster spot for a year.
anyway that was just kind of a little rant I'd been thinking about for a couple days. Take it for what you will.

Note to self: Princess Kenny was really off-putting.
