MAC vs. Windows

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on which version is better? I'm assuming they're identical, but wanted to know how feasible it is to play this on a MacBook Air with a trackpad (and not a mouse). I'd rather have it on the laptop/MacBook, but not sure how "precise" the cursor would need to be. Are the menu selections small?

What COULD make my question moot is this:
If I download one version, would I be able to use my license key/serial number and install it on Mac AND PC?

I've been playing on a MacBook since, I think, OOTP 2006, without a problem at all.
