Pinch Hitting
Does anyone have any kind of success with it? I seem to just get either strikeouts or lame ground out or fly outs all the time. This happened to me in all the versions of OOTP I have played and I have been around since pretty much the beginning.
No matter what players I select to pinch hit, they suck. Is there anything that I can do to help in this? I have looked even this season alone, even if it's only 10 games in to this season but my pitchers are outhitting my pinch hitters. In 13, I actually stopped using pinch hitters and had probably close to the same success. Any ideas? |

FWIW in my fictional league this season (I play out all my teams games) my pinch hitters are 22 for 89 with 7 BB and 7x2B. I converted my league during the season to OOTP 14 so haven't played out many games with the new version.

Pinch Hitting
Showing that its fixed in 13 doesn't help much but I'm glad it was

No worries, I did not take it as such. Look for high strike out totals from your PH's. That's an indication the problem is present. It was fixed in v13, based on my observations but problem was never fully acknowleged. It disappeared after "some code was tweaked that could have caused the problem". So perhaps the excact cause of the problem was not found and has returned in v14.
As you can read in the linked thread, problem seemed restricted to PH for pitchers only. Outcome of AB seemed to be determined by rating of pitcher that was PH for instead of PH rating. So again, if your PH have K/BB rates similar to pitchers, that's an indication the problem has reemerged. |

I think it's much better since v13. I noticed the last few games I've managed (which are few and far between), a couple of my regular pinch hitters were at 0.300+ as PH.

In some league I have had an over abundance of success in other I suck, In my current league thru 33 games. 3 for 20 3B 3 RBI (the 3B and 3 RBI are all by Ozzie Guillen in my 1st game)

There was a bug in OOTP 13 and prior version which has been fixed, and my tests show that everything works fine since the fix. So, your bad luck probably is just a small sample issue. Or your pinch hitters simply suck.
