Clearify please.
What is the difference between the player type list in the FPC module?

Fictional player creation on the FA page. I change the setting and don't see any difference, so I was just wondering what it was for.

Am I to believe that a feature was added to the game that NOBODY knows what it does? Or is it something else.

Free Agent page, create fictional player. 2nd drop down menu that says 'player type' I cant see any difference no matter which one I select and the manual just skips over it.

I'm sorry, but the question doesn't make a lot of sense to me (not being rude). The type is self explanatory in the description. It's where they come from when you create them. |

I don't understand why this is such a hard question. Somebody put this in the game and I want to understand what it does other then generate a player from a different country. What's the difference between this drop down menu and player quality, development stage?
You know what never mind. I'll just ignore that part of the game. Nearly every time I ask a question its like trying to pull teeth to get an answer. |

I think the confusion is because the player types are supposed to be self-explanatory and probably are to most users. But you're right that this isn't in the OOTP14 manual, so that should be corrected. It was in the OOTP14 feature list announcement, but it was left as self-explanatory.
It's the type of player that you want the game to create. See this post for more details.

To answer your question, there is only one development engine in OOTP, all players develop under its umbrella. Like any kid with aspirations, some make it to the bigs, most don't. |

Doesn't the player quality and development menus do the same? Or does this selection send the players to other FA lists? |

So, for example, if you choose an international amateur FA but you leave his age on default and his quality at random, the game would probably create him with an age and abilities that are what you might expect of an international amateur FA. But you could choose other settings if you want to get more specific about the age and quality of player you want the game to create. But, again, I don't really know for sure. One way to find out is to experiment with creating some free agents and trying different settings. You can always delete them afterward if you don't want them. |
