Player ID for import

What's the easiest way to determine a player's ID in Lehman? For example, I'm trying to bring Sandy Koufax out of retirement by importing him from 1966 into my 1969 league but I can't seem to figure out where to find the player ID. I did it last year for OOTP13 but due to a major ongoing and extended release of cranial methane, I am unable to remember where I got the player ID from. Someone please stop my brain from farting by enlightening me as to the secret location of player IDs. Thanks in advance for helping me lower my carbon foot print.

Koufax's id is koufasa01 It's the first five characters of their last name, first two of first, than typically 01, depending on how many players came before them with the same identifier.

If you go to baseball reference and search for a player it's listed at the end

There may be someplace where it's more visible, and it's also in the master.csv file.

Hmmm, can't get Koufax to import. The screen is totally self explanatory. Put in his ID and the year you want to import from and press IMPORT. I get, 'Failed to Import' error. Can someone else see if they can import a player. And does anyone know of any easily overlooked "gotchas" in the importation process that would prevent the import from taking place, IE, does OOTP disallow importation once the season has started? Thanks.

I don't believe there are any limitations on when a player can be imported. I just tried importing Koufax in the middle of a season from the Free Agents screen, selecting the Import Historical Player, selecting the historical_database.odb as the path, and I picked 1962 for the year and it worked fine. What year are you trying to import?

Edit - the year shouldn't actually matter. Even a year past his playing days works.

OK, thanks. That's what I'm doing too, only I'm using 1966. But like you said, the year shouldn't matter. I'm going to try importing Koufax into another league.
