Spot starts and injuries in the minors

Is there a spot start option? It's being used, I had one of my relievers from the default MLB roster set start a couple games, after clearing the pitching spots and manually setting them he stopped. I'm guessing the information is being transferred from the PC game but for the life of me I can't find the option for this game.

Also, had a minor league player suffer an injury. Are they playing games? Do they have stats for them?

Are you using iOOTP 2012 or 2013? I have seen this behavior in 2012 occasionally. On occasion the AI will start, in place of the 5th starter, the 4th ranked reliever instead. The game seems "stuck" on this until I rearrange my relievers and play a game. Then it goes away.

As far as your second question, the minor leaguers are not accumulating stats but I think the assumption is that they are playing games because their development continues. Very rarely do I see a minor leaguer get injured and the injury is always only for a few days.
