Potential after injury

Hi guys,

In one of my leagues, I had SP Mike Montgomery go down in the first season for 13 months. During that time he went from 3 star, 4.5 potential to .5 potential. Does this potential have any chance of coming back (without random talent change), or is he simply a complete dud now?

Your scout thinks he is a complete dud. Doesn't mean he's going to be...
