Will we be able to set up a draft league?

Just wondering if we will be able to set up a draft league with the program, whereas you set up teams and draft NHL players. Will it be possible to set all linups and tactics and then let the computer run out the games?

On a related note, if we wanted to modify the league and institute team contraction (i.e. putting Columbus and Florida out of their misery), what would happen to the players on those teams? Would they just be dumped into the free agent pool or could we setup a draft for them?

They are working on the Fictional Leagues option. Free agents would probably go to a pool.

Fictional Leagues and the schedule generator are the two things that I've been waiting for the most.

Alot of people requested this feature and it's suppose too be coming sooner or later.

Florida isn't going anywhere any time soon... The owners make a TON of money off the team and the arena. The team might be crappy, but money talks.

That, and in Tallon I trust!

Anyway, fantasy drafts are going to be in version 1 from what I remember reading somewhere on here. Probably will be implemented in the beta at some point for testing.

Really, they make a lot of money? Does the team alone make money or only in combination with the arena? I thought that part of the news blasts coming out of the owners during the lockout was that all teams were losing money and I remember seeing something a couple months back about the Caps losing $5mil a year (!!) which I have a hard time believing.

Maybe the Islanders and Columbus then, gotta even up those realligned divisions somehow, right?

They make a ton on both. You know how it is though, on paper they dont make a thing, but the bank accounts somehow keep accumulating money...

The county helped build the rink and only get a share if it is "profitable" the county has yet to see a dime lol... But SSE (Sunrise Sports & Entertainment) is profitable every year.

Gotta love it, just like Hollywood accounting, "Sorry, we didn't make any money this year because I had to pay me a $200mil bonus. We need smaller player contracts!!!!". At the risk of setting this thread on a lockout rant, man I really couldn't stand the owner positions this time around.

Anywho....

Why Columbus? They are a mid-range payroll team with a rock-solid arena deal until 2037 and a relatively open market.

In terms of FHM, I would love both expansion and contraction drafts but I'm not expecting tbem until much nearer to release.

For one, Columbus is in the East where I would put put the contraction given new realignment, and awful attendance history. Logical choice given the options.

I would turn Columbus into a regional team and have them play home games in Cleveland and Cincinnati.
