Creating league and importing historical players

Hello. Interested in creating a 64 team league (two leagues, four divisions, eight teams in each division). What league set up do I choose? (historical, fictional)

In addition, once I have set up my league, I would like to import all players who have played from 1871 to 2012. How do I do this so that they wind up in my free agent pool?

thank you.

If you mean you want EVERY player available in your free agent pool, A. I don't think you can do that, and B. You don't WANT to do that. Your league would be excessively large, take forever to load and to play.

Someone better versed in setting up a large league like you want for structure might be better off explaining it... but it would really depend on if you were planning on having an inaugural draft or not. If you did, I don't think it will work. I know when I was in the process of setting up my Dynasty Report league, I wanted 24 teams, but I wanted to start in 1901 (like a history of MLB) but when I went from 16 to 24 teams, it did not add extra players into my pool. Hence, I think you would have to use a fictional setup, but I am unsure how you would go about importing the historical players to it -- and again, trying to import EVERYONE is a BAD idea.

Obviously, you can do as you wish, and I wish you the best of luck -- but you'd probably need a damned supercomputer to run that league.

Thank you for your advice. I think the best option would be for me to set up a fictional league but import the players i want into each team. Once again, thank you.

If you didn't have minors you should be able to handle a 64 team league no problem at all.
