Insane amount of Passed Balls
I was looking at my low minors and noticed an very high amount of Passed Balls by Catchers.
I just played a rookie level game with a combined 98 between each catcher. 44 for the one and 54 for the other. Their catcher abilities are rated as 40 and 45 out of 80 respectively. I checked the other leagues and it was the same. The highest number I found for a single player was 1201 in 58 games. That is an average of 20.7 PB/game. That player had a catchers ability of 20 which is 0 on the 20-80 scale. Anyone know why there are this many. I am playing with the default settings. Plus why is a guy playing catcher that has 0 ability at it? Even the good catchers seem to have caught this bug. Everything in AA till the Majors seems unaffected. |

Although you will see too many walks, passed balls, and wild pitches in playing out games you can definitely alter the outcome of simmed occurences and to some degree played out games.

Several posters that play out all games dispute the claim that walks passed balls and wild pitches are significantly different in that mode. I've yet to see anyone post data to support the assertion. If this is a real issue it should be easy to document.
See the post below from Sweed. The best solution is to adjust LT or LTM as HP says above. Quote:

Thanks.
The passed ball setting was at 599.168. Not sure how it got changed or ended up that high but definitely going to fix it back to less then 1. |

wow...upon checking my stats after reading this thread...seems to be happening to me as well...my past ball is set at .882 and on June 6th, thru 29 games played (only 10 games started) my AAA catcher has 67 PB...
![]() in 48 games played my AA catcher has 59 PB...sigh if its not due to passed balls being set to high? what is another fix? Note: my AAA catcher has a 94/100 catcher ability |

Walks are different as I have shown. More on that later though.

When I first starting playing OOTP (I play out every game) I thought there were too many WP also. However after checking with league averages it seemed to be consistent. I think I just focused on it more, especially when it led to a run being scored. But this actually happens fairly often in real life baseball to my surprise. Just my 2 cents, not that it solves the OP's problem though.

I think you showed that your team received too many walks relative to the league. Did you also have too many walks league wide?

No, just my team, league totals are OK. I,ve almost finished playing out my current season and problem seems tied down to warm-up rule. Will post more on that later today.
