GM Mode/Manager Mode Immersion
I have been reading the Francona book and it is very well done in bringing to life the daily grind of the manager and GM relationship. I love to play some dynasties where I am the manager and play out every game and have no control over roster moves and I like to play out other dynasties where I am the GM and have no say of the every day lineup. I would love to see more immersion in both these features where you can talk and make suggestions to your manager or to your GM. I know there is a strategy feature where you can force a guy to start at a certain position and when I am playing GM mode I limit myself to one of those at a time. It would be great though to suggest it to the manager. Very much like in the movie Moneyball. Some managers will listen, others will not which may make you think about firing them etc. Same in manager mode, maybe you can suggest to the GM that you need a left handed pitcher out of the pen or more help on the bench. Just my two cents

I'm in the same boat. I haven't invested much time into playing out games in the past few versions. I'd love to see some GM-focused changes. Player locking and force start options are nice, but are very easy to loose track of. Some little things, like the player dev screen showing locks, and force to SP not forcing them to the top of the rotation would help. Some bigger things, to add interaction with scouts and managers, would be even better.

Regarding force start/player lock, perhaps Markus could add a small lock symbol next to spots on the depth chart/lineup/rotation screens. You put your guys in where you want them, lock 'em, then let the AI fill in the rest...and it locks the player to the level as well.

I like this idea as well. There needs to be more difference of being a manager or a GM and then more interaction between the two. For now, I would just like to have a manager only mode.

I was just dealing with this the other day, I don't want to handle the day to day stuff that a manager does but want to see certain guys in the rotation, so I either have to take control and keep control or I put them there and the manager changes it back the next day.
I would love to see the option to make the manager start a guy at a certain position or keep a guy in the rotation, happens in real life, why not in the game |
