Bunches of vignettes that can affect player development and league results, so beware. To get an idea (in Windows), navigate to C:\Users\[user name]\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 13\storylines and right-click default_storylines.xml. Choose Open With, Notepad.

Scan the text while disregarding the . . . forgot what they call them . . . links, for want of a better term. That will tell you what kind of stories, and options (there are options for some), are involved.

Now the cautions. Storylines in OOTP 13 have been criticized two ways:

• Some have too drastic an effect on cash, markets, and player development.
• Storylines seem to be few and far between for some people. I used to see them but don't any more, not for "years." My own pet theory is, if you turn them off, they stay off even if you turn them on again.

The overall judgement: Eye candy. Adds some interest (if working) but serious players beware of effects upon results.
