This game CHEATS! ;)
Two years in a row now the LOWEST Wild Car team (Boston Redsox) have gone all the way to win the World Series!
Now I was having my go at them one year and started out ahead in our 5 game set, but, of course Hamilton desides to sprain his ankle and that was all she wrote (We blew a 6 run lead). lol Boston goes on to win the World series from of all teams MILWALKee?? Next year they do the same thing....something is amuck here when the lowest wild card team wins two world series in a row and Boston of all teams! lol (ducking from Boston fans). I'm just happy to report though the YANKEES haven't made those playoffs in the last 2 years.

Baseball is a game of chance I guess. I've seen similar things happen to me.
It's enough to drive ya crazy sometimes though lol.

Quoting Billy Beane "... what happens in the playoffs is f***ing luck.."
It's really just a tournament at the end of a 162-game season. I think it's been proven throughout baseball history that while the best team *should* win the World Series, with the few number of games in the playoffs -- it often doesn't happen. "There's always next year" (the eternal hopes of all fellow Mariners and Cubs fans)

Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?! Who's talking about PLAYOffs! lol
It just sucks having a great team going 103-59 and then losing in the first round to the lowest wild card team.... you're right it makes a guy wanna go crazy. I guess I know how the Yankee managers feel now. lol |

Are you able to keep the majority of your team together to make another run at it next season? |

In this game, almost every single time I've built up a young healthy team full of stars, and then have a lot of money to spend in the off-season, and I buy healthy established stars in their prime; catastrophe occurs.
My star players fall like dominos with injury after injury. My players who have been consistent/progressing performers, suddenly regress. That's the type of "rubber band ai" that I really dislike about this game. I hope this gets corrected in the next ootp. |

It's like a line of code like this IF player belongs to HUMAAN cut stats by 50-75%. Increase Injury chances to all HUMAAN STAR PLAYERS. lol I have injuries set on the LOWEST they will go and still get creamed with injuries. Now I wouldn't say I want this out or fixed as it does make the whole series and league play a lot more challenging, but, maybe a few tweaks here and there so as not to FRUSTRATE the HUMAAN and make him NOT WANT TO BUY NEXT YEARS VERSION.

What usually happens to me is, I play as GM all season. Putting together a great team of veteran stars and young prospects. I hire a good coaching staff. They play the season brilliantly, winning 100+ games.
Then the playoffs begin and I decide that I am not going to trust the strategy that has worked so well for the team that my computer manager instituted to perfection. I know better when and who to sub. I know the guy who has been hitting .325 from the 8 spot all year deserves his chance at number 3. Than when I lose I blame the game instead of my inept in-game management. I make a better macro-manager then a micro-manager. |

Don't the lower seeds seem to always win? Florida, Boston, Green Bay, NYG.
