Something isn't right here. With such poor stuff and a weak fastball he should be giving up a ton more hits and many more homeruns, especially given probably half of his starts are at home. His groundball rate produces some DPs but nobody is getting on, so that's not the answer. This is the definition of anomaly.

i play with reduced park factors- to cut down some of colrado's hitting advantage or san diego pitcher advantage. But is still a shock to say the least- in test runs before going full on with this replay Cook has pitched all right. A couple of times he won 18 or 19 games and did very well with the Rockies. I will see how the rest of the season goes for him...
The rest of the leagues top starters are where you would expect them. 2.60-3.50 era, 10-13 wins

Look at his BABIP (.245). It shows he is pretty lucky. An average BABIP is around .300.

It's under advanced pitching stats 2. It's an advanced metric that measures how well a pitcher pitches, regardless of how well his fielders field. It's a better indication of skill than ERA, IMO.

I got so darned curious that I started to sim ahead as the evening went on, just to see how he would do to end this season...

He slowed down as things went on, and finished what will be a cy young season, but more normal- he got pounded around a couple of times to even out some of the numbers

He actually went to 21-0 before he started give up 5 earned runs in 2 or 3 innings for a few starts
It didn't appear on the screen shots- but he also had 9 starts for the Rockies in 2011, went 4-0 with a 3.47 ERA, which means he thus
won 25 games in a row going back through his starts at the end of 2011!
Amazingly though, he lost his 2 rehab starts he had in AAA going 0-2 with the 5.08 ERA

Is scouting on? I never trust scouting ratings and With those ratings i'd never of expected a season like this, but you never know.

This may be a dumb question... but why are those numbers so high?

On my game all the ratings are out of 20...

You can change the ratings scale in your game options.

Precision. A 2-8 scale will tell you less than a 1-100 scale.

Precision only really applies if scouting is off (or unless your scout is perfect).

Having said that, I prefer the 1-100 scale, and use it.

Back in the OOTP6 days, I had a pitcher start a season 20-0.
