IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

Reason #1 why the Superbowl is better then the World Series:

The Superbowl was played in 1994.

Thumbs up

Now if we can leave 'wild card' teams to football and get back to baseball being 'champions only,' I'l be a happier camper.

I like the quote from George Will:

"Football brings together the worst elements of American society. It is extreme violence punctuated by comittee meetings."

The NFC/AFC championship games in football are the best sports games of the year.....better than the superbowl and world series

if you can say that then i can say that the World Series is better than the SuperBowl b/c it was played for about half a century prior to 1960.

regardless, I still think the Super Bowl is better. Why? I really don't know. no time to explain now.

I'm a big fan of both events, however the world series, for me anyway, is beginning to lose its luster when its dominated from 1996 on primarely by the Yanks. Last year was a breath of fresh air though!

These games are way better than the Super Bowl, better than the Series, um maybe not, but close. Mainly because they are played before a bias crowd which makes the environment so exciting. They are not played in front of white collar workers who probably don't even know half the players that are in the Super Bowl.

Ok, if you can say that, then I can say this:

I can just about promise you that there will be a Superbowl in 2006, do you think you can say the same about the world series?

P.S. Just to clarify things, the world series was better until '94 and interleague play.
