First Base + Third Base coaches

I was reading an article about Terry Ryan being hired as the Twins GM, and I noticed that one of the first things that he did was fire the first and third base coach. That made me realize quite how valuable these coaches are, and if the game can have dedicated Bench Coaches, I'm sure that dedicated First and third base coaches wouldn't be that big of a stretch. This could have an influence on steals (i.e. aggresive first base would have more bases be stolen, and vice versa) and the third base coach could have an influence for runners rounding third going for home. Anyways, just a thought.

If managers don't really contribute much (say 3-5 wins/yr), which is what I read, what evidence exists that coaches have anything close to the above win totals?

Made up influence turns the game into an arcade style. I don't want that unless there is data to support it. Show me the data.

I am all for base coaches purely for cosmetic reasons. Just sucks that it's rare when a BC/PC/HC gets promoted from within in OOTP.

That's more or less what I was thinking. It could be a cosemtic change, but it would add more flavor to the game.

I don't think it should have too much affect on the game but I'd love the feature for the immersion factor. Wouldn't mind having a few coaching slots for a few team legends and manager wannabees.
