Which OOTP to choose?

Hello fellow baseball lovers,

Sorry for opening a new thread, but I used search option to search for "best ootp" and couldn't find anything... I started watching baseball a few years ago, but I never thought I could play baseball manager.. Few days ago, with nothing to do, i downloaded OOTP 13... However, I've found it a little bit to complicated for me... I was wondering if someone could suggest me some other version I could play...

This is what I need:
1. baseball manager that has feature to select my first team, subs, my tactics...
2. baseball manager that when the game is started goes automatically, and i can pause it if i want to do a sub and similar
3. Has anyone played CM 01/02? It's soccer manager which is pretty nice, yet elegant and easy to play... There is new patch every season so you can play with new transfer... I would like a baseball manager similar to that... It doesn't have to be with new transfer or have that kind of patches, just to be easy to play... You can YT the gameplay and see what I need...

I don't need:
1. a manager like the new CMs in which you can talk to players, news, TVs and similar... Those are just features I don't need, and don't like...
2. a manager that ask me to select plays and pitches (I know that in OOTP you can choose to do it automatically, but the very idea that I need to choose that is repelling)...

Ofc, it would be nice that I can upgrade ballpark, get new players, have youngster teams and similar.. I just don't want a complicated game which requires me like half an hour of clicking just to start the game, and then another 1-2hours to select pitches and play the game... Hope that someone can help me, and is eager to do so, cause I would really like to play a bit...

Any OOTP version will do pretty much what you ask for.

Download the 13 demo and play around with it. I recommend that you begin with a quickstart game. so you can familairize yourself with the game without having to mess with the configuration. But you'll find in time that messing with the configuration is half the fun.

I still find OOTP 6.5 to be the best combination of features and simplicity.

I have never been able to get into the newer versions.

If 13 was too much for you I'd also point you in the direction of 6.5.

Ok, will try out with 6.5... How about patches? Is there any transfer updates and similar? So you could play 6.5 with new players and similar?

Played demo for 13 last night, got 6-4 score with NYY... I just put Girardi to do everything except subs

6.5. The game has become bloated with too much crap since.

One man's crap is another man's priceless feature.
