Stuck on "Cleaning up text files"

After a crash, it appears everything is still okay except that when I try to continue my game it gets stuck when it gets to the point of cleaning up the text files (the last save was on May 1, but it was simulating in mid-may when the computer power turned off, so obviously it needs to get rid of the text stories and such from after May 1). It just is stuck and it says it is not responding, forcing me to force quit to get out.

Is there some way I can "clean up" the text files manually, or override this in some way (so it'd look weird initially to have text stories from two different March 2nd, but after 10 years or so it'd be gone completely anyway, so...)?

First try this: Let the game sit, for a few hours if need be, and see if it actually is taking a long time to go through what may be thousands of text files. You may think it's crashed, and Windows may think it's crashed, but it may still be working. Maybe let it run overnight. If it's still stuck in the morning, then perhaps post here again and somebody (me?) may have another suggestion.

Nope. I fully concur with Bru on this one.

You can manually delete them all but then you would lose all text history or let it do it's thing and wait. You must have allot for it to take that long but unless you want to lose it all i'd wait.

Could always upgrade your PC that should speed it up

I was shutting down progs in the task manager and killed a vital service causing a crash.

When I reloaded this happened I got the same message as the OP. I got the hour-glass and the (Program not responding). Like you said, I let it sit. After some time (5-10 minutes) it finished what it was doing and the league works without problems.

The only issues that I have noticed since then is this:



It only appears to be a problem with names that have an accent mark. In-game they are fine. It only appears to be an issue on the transactions logs.
