Fictional Worlds/Leagues

I'm not sure who writes the info on the FHM Twitter account but it was mentioned that fictional leagues are likely.

I don't know how deep we can go in this area but you can expect quit a few nice fictional features with the first version.

As an example, will I be able to create an 8 team NHL in 47-48 and bring historical players into them and then add new players through the amateur draft as the seasons progress?

Or will I be limited to fictional players in fictional leagues?

Regardless of what the answer is I'm looking forward to this game coming out and would gladly give you my money right now.

As long as you can create a standard hockey world with fictional players instead of real life, that's good enough for me.

This what I asked in another thread. Not answered to date whch leads to believe that it may not be doable in the first version. Hope that I am wrong.

will there be a basic expansion draft? I really hope so...it's a feature we've never had in a hockey sim that is badly needed...especially for fictional leagues.

In the end, all leagues become fictional leagues if you play long enough

As long as "fictional" players in this case means "custom" players and not just "auto generated" players then I'm ok with it.

Will there be fictional minor leagues? It was mentioned before that NHL teams in early seasons would only be able to have reserve lists. If there are fictional minors wouldn't that mean that parent clubs(NHL or fictional) would have minor league teams no matter what the season?

Define "Custom Players" please.

I really like the way OOTP auto generates players. I hated the way EHM recycled players because it was too easy to figure out who was who.

At the moment I can't say much about the fictional mode as I don't want to get hopes up. Just a few notes:

1. FHM does not use a recreation system of player, newly generated players are unique.

2. Player will be editable in some form (be it right in the game or in an editor).

3. Minor League/Junior League restriction are not present in fictional games.

If I'm understanding you correctly, no. It was confirmed in the Historical Play dev. diary that historical leagues won't be able to have minor leagues yet. For the time being, they'll use a "reserve roster".

A fictional league could be made into the NHL . Then another fictional league could be the AHL. If there aren't feeder leagues,then make the AHL into a major league.
