Problem With Waivers

I had a problem handling Waivers (that turned out well, but I figured I should get it straight).

I am running the 2012 Blue Jays. I wanted to send Rajai Davis to AAA but since he was out of options I had to put him on waivers. I waited the 3 days and nobody claimed him so the waivers list had him clearly tagged as 'cleared'.

I then made what I assume was my mistake and pulled his name off the waiver list and tried to move him from my ML roster to my AAA roster. I was informed he had to go through waivers... even though he already had.

The happy ending is that, in my frustration, I decided to shop him while he was on waivers the second time. Arizona offered me Brad Ziegler for him... even though they could have had him for free since nobody else put in a waiver claim. I got a better player for cheaper.

But anyway, can someone confirm? Do I have to leave him on the waiver list (tagged as cleared) until I move in to AAA?

You have to first move him to the minor leagues and then once he is on a minor leagues roster remove him from the waivers list.
The game did it the correct way.

Never take a cleared player off the waiver list. Once he clears and until he has 5 year refusal rights you can call him up and down at will. I put as many players as I can on waivers just before the regular season starts. Often they get lost in the numbers and it serves me well to have additional players available. Take note that the game clears all waivers at the trade deadline. This sets up waiver trades in August.
