vBulletin Slowed?

Thought it was just me- Iowa gone bad still exists as a possibility -but the boards seem, overall, slowed. The intial page lags a bit, the posting box, whether it's replying or initiating a thread, often is cursor-hanging, more often when replying than in another instance; a bit annoying.

Now, as I compose and type, no problems, but let me go to the forums and click quick reply or quote, and more often than not, the cursor will hang and I'm unable to move it about the box at will, without a long wait for it physically move to the new location.

Buttons require clicking more than once at times, long waits for Last Post, etc... Edits, Saves, only Go Advanced seems to work well.

This doesn't just happen on one computer, but on my PC at work (now), my laptop, and the desktop computer. The iPhone would be the exception.

FWIW

Okay, seriously. It doesn't matter what or whose computer I'm using. Really? Just me? About 80% of the time or more this site loads slow, won't go back to the page I was previously viewing without a huge lag, if it's able to get back at all. The site is jammed up somehow and not functioning like it has for the last, well, almost forever.

It's not that it's not tolerable, it's just . . . not the usual user-friendly site I'm used to any longer. Edits to posts, replies (some), cursor lags, it goes on and on. I'd blame my PC, but like I say, it doesn't matter where I access the site from, with the exception of my mobile phone. Most of the time, the lag is simply 'cell-lag' but it's often quicker and more responsive than ANY desktop or laptop I use to connect.

eg, maybe it's your forum account itself? Perhaps ask a moderator to check it out for you?

EDIT: I just edited this post and the dialog box popped right up. I hit save, and saw no problem.

It's better than it was, with a few occasional hiccups. Thanks for checking in.

I'm having the same problem. All other websites seem to load fine. No matter what computer I access this site it will drag and sometimes only partially load. The strange thing is, it loads perfectly fine on my iphone.

Been this was a since the beginning of the weekend. Extremely slow, timing out, and half loading pages.

It's still dreadfully slow. Just spins and spind on my desktop.

It isn't too bad on my iPad, which I am using to post this because the desktop still isn't coming in.

Anyone else having trouble?

I still have to resort to Go Advanced to avoid the cursor lag often occurring in the conventional Reply.

So we ARE experiencing a problem and it seems all of us have less problems with iPhones and iPads. Now the burning question: who needs to know?

Yeah, but that isn't the problem. Most of it is in replies and editing, for me primarily editing. Others, if you read the thread, have trouble loading pages. There's a glitch in it somewhere, I'm fairly certain. Hasn't ever happened until the last couple months or so.

Mine will hang on the forum title and below, so nothing below the menu with "User CP", etc will show up...

...until I click the stop button on the browser. Then everything loads instantly.

I too have noticed a problem with the forum boards. Today is the the 1st day I have been able to get the forum boards to load up properly, in several days. For almost a week, any subscription notices that I would receive from OOTP via email, I could get none of the links to load any of the threads correctly. And of the very few that did, only the 1st post in a thread would show.

Through email communication, I know of other OOTP game owners who were hang the same problem with not being about to access the forums boards.

I've noticed that board loads slow as can be from home (we're talking minutes). Haven't noticed a slowdown from work computer in quite a while. Computer at home is much newer...have same internet provider at both places. Doesn't make sense to me.

I couldn't get the OOTP forums pages to load at all for the last 1.5 days. Yesterday alone, I tried 5-6 different times throughout the day and night with no luck!

It is getting very discouraging.
